Thanks to your support the ATUC continued its work throughout 2022 with a large number of events, demos and attendance to support striking workers!  We very much hope your trade union will support us once again by affiliating for 2023.

We can only exist because trade union branches support us, and whether your branch has been a long time affiliate, or you wish to join us for the first time this year, we’d be very happy for your support.

It's that time of year again, and the ATUC are looking for organisations to help sponsor our 2022 annual report, to be published in the new year, by taking out adverts to be included in the publication. You can view last year’s report as well.

Organisations taking adverts in this way allow us to produce the well-respected Annual Report each year which is distributed to trade union and other organisations, as well as being made available at the annual STUC conference. It's a great way to get your branch or organisation noticed, as well as helping us to cover the costs of producing the report.

Annual Report advert costs are as follows (please note we are now basing advert costs on page size, as all are now available in colour due to the new printing process we use):
Full-page - £200.00
Half-page - £100.00
Quarter-page - £50.00

To make it even easier you can now submit your annual report advert request online, including uploading your copy ready artwork/poster. We'll then invoice you for the selected amount. If you don’t have your artwork ready yet, you can still book and then send the artwork in later.

As we say goodbye to 2022, this year's annual report will show the huge groudswell of industrial action taken by union members in defence of their pay and conditions. We would like to encourage all our affiliates and associate organisations to provide a report on your work over this year. We usually ask for an A4 page of type in Arial 12pt but we would be happy with just a couple of paragraphs on your branch's/organisations' experience to ensure we can include as many affiliates as possible in this Annual Report.

Articles can be submitted to atucreports@gmail.com and we would be grateful to receive them as soon as possible, and ideally by 31st January 2022.

ATUC Annual Report 2017

Aberdeen Trades Union Council is pleased to announce the publication of our Annual Report for 2017, which is now available for download from this website.

If you would like hard copies of this report to distribute within your organisations, please contact us on our Facebook page and we can arrange to get copies to you.

The year 2018 is also our 150th Anniversary year, and we'd like to give our special thanks to everyone who provides articles for the report, for our dedicated team of people who work on putting the report together, and also all the trade unions and other organisations who help to support the work of the ATUC throughout the year, and who support the production of the annual report by providing articles and adverts.

Next ATUC Delegates meeting on Wednesday 07 February 2018

The second ATUC Delegates meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday 07 February 2018 at 7.30pm within the ATUC premises at 22A Adelphi Aberdeen.

The 150th year events will once again be key agenda item, including the Civic Reception event happening on Wednesday 7 March 2018 to launch our 150th birthday celebrations.

Other agenda items include the Annual Report 2017 for which adverts and articles have been steadily received. We will also be discussing arrangements for International Women's Day, International Workers' Memorial Day and May Day as well as the AGM in March.

Please remember that this meeting is the nominations meeting for office bearers and post holders for the year ahead, in preparation for the AGM being held on 14 March 2018.

We hope as many Delegates as possible can attend this important meeting.

ATUC Annual Report 2016

Aberdeen Trades Union Council is pleased to announce the publication of our Annual Report for 2016, which is now available for download from this website.

This year all the work for typesetting and collating the report was done by our very own Morag Lawrence, and there are many hours of work involved in pulling it all together so we send a big thank you to Morag, and also to everyone else involved, including all the trade unions and other organisations who help to support the work of the ATUC throughout the year, and who support the production of the annual report by providing articles and adverts.

Aberdeen opposes Trump #MuslimBan - Protest tonight 6-8pm in the Castlegate

A protest against Trump's #MuslimBan will be held in the Castlegate, Aberdeen today from 6-8pm to show solidarity with all those who are affected by Trump's racist and mysoginistic policies.

Organiser, Fiona-Jayne Massie said, "We dinnae like Trump, but we're awfae fond o' oor foreign family members, friends, workmates, neighbours, shopkeepers, dog-walkers, strangers... Whoever!

"Let's not mince our words: Trump's new legislation against countries with a majority Muslim population is SECTARIANISM against Muslims, and RACISM against the citizens of the seven nations now banned from entering the USA. It's destroying lives. It's stopping normal people from going home to see their family, or stopping people from going home to America to resume their lives. So let's show solidarity with the rest of the planet who aren't racist idiots. How? PROTEST!"

The event is family friendly! Animal friendly! Bring placards, musical instruments, and warm clothing! Please ask if you have any accessibility concerns.

ATUC Annual Report 2015

Aberdeen Trades Union Council is pleased to announce the publication of our Annual Report for 2015, which is now available for download from this website.
